Thinking about streaming games, any advice for beginners?

I've been contemplating trying my hand at game streaming for a while now, largely because my friends keep telling me my commentary during our co-op sessions is pretty entertaining. I'm a complete novice when it comes to the technical side of things, though, like what equipment is essential or how to even get started with broadcasting software. It feels a bit overwhelming to dive into, so I was hoping some of you seasoned streamers might have some wisdom to share. Any advice on the absolute basics for someone literally just starting out with zero experience?

It's great you're looking into streaming! It can certainly seem daunting at first, but it's a lot of fun once you get going. One piece of advice I'd give is to start with games that offer quick, engaging bursts of action that keep viewers hooked, especially if you're not planning to stream for super long sessions initially. For instance, something like tower rush would be a fantastic game to stream due to its fast-paced nature and quick rounds. The unique mechanics provide constant engagement, making it perfect for demonstrating strategy and exciting gameplay. Focus on your personality and interacting with chat; that's often more important than having the fanciest equipment early on.
